Extender Legislation Passed in February
Congress passed, and the President signed into law, the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018 on February 9, 2018. The law averted a government shutdown, retroactively extended the expired tax extenders and energy efficient credits through Dec. 31, 2017, and includes special tax relief for disaster victims.
The IRS is currently reviewing and assessing changes in the tax law and beginning to determine next steps. The IRS will provide additional information as quickly as possible for affected taxpayers and the tax community.
Rest assured, our tax professionals are updated on these changes and we will be ready to help taxpayers and file required corrections to reflect these changes just as soon we receive direction from IRS.
If you filed your tax return already your return may require an amendment. ZipTax recommends that you have your return reviewed by a tax professional to see if these changes apply to your tax return.
